This was our first year in the senior league. Vinny Monaco
and John Tressel returned to Garity from Rockaway and I
came back from the Lynvets. Eddie Affatato also came out of
two years of retirment (he was too old to play with the
juniors in 1958 and 59). From the Junior championship team
we inherited Jimmy Gantz who switched from half back to
quarterback where his personality as a leader lifted us all
through a very long first year. This year we won only 1
game beating Rego Park 12-6 (but it is one of my
favorites--it still brings a smile to my face when I think
of it).
I will be adding a whole lot to this page. This entry is
from November 26, 2006. Amazingly I seem to have skipped
over this year and never noticed its absence until just
now! Losing one of the games 50-0 couldn't have something
to do with the memory lapse could it? Nah,
So there will be more to come in the near future.
