The Coaches

Without these guys there would be no Garity Knights to remember.
So please send any information you have and it will be included. That is the purpose of this site. To be a memorial to those who are no longer with us and to continue to say thanks for guys who, because of their sheer love of the game of football, made it possible for us to participate in that wonderful, uniquely american game of FOOTBALL.

Dom Affatato (assistant 1957,58,59--intermediate head coach 1967?**

Joe Collarota (Junior asst coach: 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963)

Mattie Croak (junior asst. coach: 1958.)

Jim Dolan (head coach first team ever 1957 juniors, 1958, 1959**)

Gene Grandinetti (Juniors asst. coach: 1957,58,59**head coach 1960, 61, 62, 63,64,65,66**,67**)

Bob Klatcher. Juniors, Assistant coach 1966*

Ben Kolb (Rosedale Seniors 19xx, Garity Seniors 1961,1962*,1963*)

Ted (Ipy) Ipplolito. President of the Garity Knights Football Clubs (formed in 1959). Teddy was also a major fund raiser supplying ideas on how to run raffles, fund raising parties. Ippy ran the awards dinners at the end of the year. These dinners were major events where trophys were awarded to players from each of the teams. There was usually a professional player in attendance. (thanks to Gene Grandinetti for calling this to my attention).

Frank Vernie (trainer: seniors 1961,62,63 [maybe more years])

Tommy Wall: (intermediates 1967) Tommy played for the Woodside chiefs (1957,58 and 59), the Lynvets (1960*,61) and then coached the intemediates with Jimmy Gantz at Garity.
